But while my photoshop logos aren't close to professional level by any means, they're enough to make the stuff I made in illustrator look like powerpoint clipart

I'll make one eventually, hopefully third time is the charm

Don't be too hard on yourself
I'd recommend looking at commissioned logos done by actual artists and trying to emulate what they did so you can steal their methods and incorporate them into your own stuff

It's how I've been teaching myself chuuba logos for the last few days
