Spoilers, clips of stuff and trailers can be a double edged sword, especially if they hyped it out for you, or get you excited. Sometimes it's worth it to not know because you enjoy it better going in blind, but sometimes you just really need to know if something happens and it could go either

For example, prequels and origin stories can include the second one if they planned it well. For me, an example would be Arcane, I'm sadly a League player, so I kinda expected they would stick to the lore, so when the scene where "Jinx" apparently kills Caitlyn, the story had been so build off I actually thought for some seconds that Caitlyn was dead there, but of course, I already knew from the lore and games, she was obviously alive. And that's something good a writer can do.
