japanese people, as in normal real life japanese people, either have never heard of hololive or think it's some spergy otaku shit for virgins and kids. nijisanji is the only vtuber company that has penetrated through the mainstream, because for whatever reason anything women are into is seen as trendy and socially acceptable.

the real reason nijisanji talents get away with long breaks while holos piss off their fans is because nijis actually communicate. when mysta went on a month long break he said "hey my mental health is pretty poor rn so I'm gonna take a break to recharge" and his fans were happy he was taking care of himself. when gura goes on a month long break she just logs off and tells no one. then they wait until a reddit shitstorm starts brewing to finally force her manager to login to her twitter account and give a fake damage control tweet. those two approaches show a massive difference in professionalism and respect for the fans, and it's why despite all of nijisanji's other unprofessional behavior their fans are never sperging out over "lazy chuubas." literally all it takes is just a little bit of communication and honesty.

Are you just assuming I haven't watched LuxNoc or given them a chance? I watched quite a bit of them when they debuted just to see what they were like, but none of them appealed to me besides Sonny. I won't shit on them but it's hard to fake enthusiasm.

I'm not a Pomu-only but it feels like the original fans are being slowly pushed out so I mostly stick to Pomu and Elira and Rosemi and Selen.
I would've loved if this Long Drive stream was the 4 of them together or any combination of the original 6 girls but I just can't be bothered to watch a stream with people I don't like in it.
I'm thankful Pomu realizes how many of the original fans feel alienated by the shitty collabs and she usually schedules solo streams on the same day to give us something to enjoy.

No they didn't, they just used a pre-recorded song and had Yagoo dance around in a mocap suit. Japan was in lockdown at the time and they never posted any proof that they ever traveled to Japan. Particularly since Gura can't secure a Japanese visa due to...her past.

I'm not a consoomer so I value creative freedom infinitely more than cheap plastic crap. If you really NEED your Pomu daki then just buy one yourself, why the fuck does it need to be official merch?

If Pomu was making twice as much money in Hololive milking paypigs but unable to make any of her quality content she makes now I would feel that it's a waste of her talents as a fan and probably stop watching. I'd still love her but just like what happened to Nobuhime and Kizuna Ai there's no point continuing to support a decaying husk as it's being drained of life by a bunch of corporate ghouls.

The funny thing is they actually still find room for favoritism even with only girls. Irys's outfit has been stuck in limbo for almost a year and Council have been basically abandoned by management. Sure they give them charity alt outfits but none of them get any kind of projects or high profile sponsorships. Pretty much everything is just given to Myth by default and Council are only called in when Myth reject it(like the recent anime convention).
