Also, if a message you sent didn't appear, the most likely reason is a connection problem. When you send a chat, you should see two corresponding entries in the web socket (labeled ws) in the Network tab of the inspector window (Press F12). One for you sending it to the server (marked by green up arrow), and one for the server getting it, processing it, and sending it to everyone, including yourself (red down arrow).

Similar entries happen for puzzle piece movements, and anything that involves the server updating the room's state, such as players joining/leaving, or changing names and colors. If there's an up arrow for sending the message, but no corresponding down arrow which contains the same message you sent, there was an issue with getting the message back from the server, which probably means bad connection.

Alternatively, there are WIP anti-griefing protections which roll back any changes made by a player within so many seconds of them joining/leaving, and they don't always work right yet. It's possible you ran into some of the issues they're trying to iron out.
