Getting big is always going to have some element of luck to it, no matter how hard you think you've worked or how smart you think you are. Someone putting in the effort to stand out in an audition for the most coveted after position in vtubing isn't nothing, if it were then more people would be hololive vtubers.
Fact of the matter is that people who bitch about other people's good fortunes are just being bitches, and are usually doing so while also ignoring their own good fortunes or their opposition's hard work.

Sana is one of the most talented people to have ever worked for Hololive. It didn't necessarily translate to being a great streamer, and it didn't work out for Cover, but it's not like she was hired for literally no reason what-so-ever.
