The thing is those researchers were never named "Rosemi" or "Selen" so as far as we are concerned, they're just people who look and sound like Rosemi and Selen. Also they clearly don't have the fantastical features such as Selen's headwing on them.

You can chalk it up to coincidental lookalikes/parallel universe or whatever but they aren't the same people.

And no, it isn't a work of fiction or whatever because various other nijien members' lore also has this game/virtual setting; it's something consistent so it isn't a factor.
