Rules weren't a thing when HoloRust started out, and tbdesu they wouldn't have really hindered her way of playing the game even in the later seasons. She was just afraid of being too tryhard and ruin the experience for the more casual and inexperienced memebers, that's it. Still doesn't make a whole lot of sense that she made an exception for VCR since the whole server goes even further against her idea of Rust, but I guess she just changed her mind during the last 1.5 years.

It was a roleplaying server, which is the best use you can make of a platform like Rust since it's designed to make you be online 24/7 and just ends up turning into a seethe generator.

I'm aware of it but I still don't quite get her reasoning. Maybe she thinks they're playing like it was a pub server, when they're actually pretty chill most of the time. Can't say I know her more than she knows herself, but with her kind of personality I feel like she could have fun just fucking about with everyone else without worrying too much about the competitive aspect of the game.
