A spike in net profit (especially true for newer 'tech' companies) usually means they overshoot they revenue projections by miles and more. Sometimes it's because they happened to win the algo game and their products/services went viral, other times it's plainly because they made a really good and well received product/service that overperforms in the market that year and hasn't had the time to restructure their spending budget.
That said, I'll argue a similar case happened here with Anycolor, they probably thought they would make somewhere around 4bn but gets 6bn instead due to overperformance.
Although the reverse can also be applied to Cover here, that they overexpected their revenue this year, and ended up with negative np growth. I think that wasnt the case for cover, and that they were just more aggressive with reinvestments (HoloEarth, HoloAlt, etc) this year. also their spike moment was probably last years' and they were likely already expecting a negative np growth for this year anyway.
