Why does hearing her voice make me feel so much better this is bullshit

I hate when a VTuber comes here because the whole point of posting here is to be able to criticize a VTuber without her seeing it. If you are a VTuber and you use /vt/, stop.

"Parasocial" is one of those words that has lost all sight of its original meaning, like "gaslighting" or "meme." The whole point of the term is that it's a one-sided relationship with someone who doesn't know you exist. So it applies to big streamers who address their chat as an amorphous blob, certainly. But then I see small vtubers who say things like "I get parasocial with my chat." They seem to think parasocial just means being internet friends with someone. But no, if you're interacting with people on an individual level, it doesn't matter whether you're on the internet or off it. That's just the average reciprocal relationship. It bothers me seeing people use the word "parasocial" in this way because it manages to be the exact opposite of its original definition.

The only thing I will ever drop a vtuber for is using text to speech to read her superchats. That shit is annoying. Either read it out loud yourself or don't read it at all. Don't constantly interrupt your own stream with a robot voice which you will then have to stop talking to listen to.

If there's one thing I've learned in years of watching VTubers, it's that half of them can't pronounce the word debut, and don't get me started on how they say "debuted."

At some point, shouldn't they just start using a different word?

I can't unsubscribe to anyone just in case anyone ever does the Mayuzumi thing where you can only talk in chat if you've been subbed from the start, but nobody ever does it.

I'm not even really looking forward to her birthday anymore. But it'll be interesting to see what actually happens with it, if anything.

One thing I kind of hate about VTubers is the ones who go out of their way to put on a fake voice make it hard for the ones who are, in fact, using their real voices but because VTubers with fake voices exist, people assume they aren't. They think "When they're using a deep voice, that must be their real voice" and that's usually not even true. The fake voice ones have ruined people's trust for the ones who use their real voice and actually do just have a naturally cute voice.

It really does feel pretty bad that she's supposedly been super busy and having health issues, but was able to play hours of a new game just fine while having no holo activity whatsoever.

You know, it's kinda funny that she's literally always been like this. With at least 2 of her old personas the last thing she ever posted was apologizing for being gone for so long and that she would be back soon and then abandoning the account entirely.

It was surprising to discover how many VTubers are just like me, can read hiragana and katakana no problem, can memorize words and understand sentence structure and the spoken language just fine, but cannot read kanji. I am completely baffled by kanji, I don't know how anyone does it.
