that's why it's my favorite from 3 4 and 5, it stuck to its theme the best. instead of brute force solving everyone's problems like you do in 5, the MC was a listening ear to people who just wanted to be heard. gameplay wise it didn't annoy me purely because it fit story wise, of course your friends aren't gonna want to bash in the skulls of tables and crows if exams are tomorrow, and i liked not controlling party members, i think people overhype how hard it was to let them do their own thing since they can still be directed to heal or conserve SP or guard.
