The most factual post on this thread, I say everything I say to condition myself into believing that they will never be friends with us, nor would they want to. Compartmentalise. I tell myself they are characters in a book or actors on a show. I can love them, want to see them grow and adapt and for the story on the whole to become more popular so it doesn't die from lack of funding. But I also tell myself that what I love isn't real, I do it to keep myself sane. I wish to enjoy the entertainment, without it disillusioning me to reality
