She's probably the most high functioning case of "I can save her" that I know of, in that she has a fucked up past but you wouldn't know it from the way she acts. I won't go into too much detail, but her Asian parents abused the shit out of her as a child because she wasn't the son that they wanted, to the point where she bounced between her parents' home and a bunch of child welfare programs. She then left around her mid teens and I believe she was homeless for a while before finding some people to stay with and burying herself in schoolwork, alcohol, and videogames. Some group she was a part of on Discord started advertising the VTuber group LumiLive and how they were looking to hire people to become VTubers. Reiyu responded, interviewed drunk at 3am, and became the big titty ghost girl we know today. She's basically been independent her entire life
