SO HERE IS THE THING: your vtuber friends will also bring their +1. They might invite people who aren't even vtubers. One of them might be an schizo. This has already happened before.

Its not simply because of "unicorns", people who watch small vtubers watch them to interact with the vtuber and collabs rob them of that.
Add to the mix someone who they definitively not care about and they will immediately turn the stream off.
Do this several times and people will just choose to watch someone else

Another big debuff is playing games their like instead of games their audience would like to see them play.
Sure you love Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing but your mostly male audience doesnt want to see you play that shit.
They want to see you react and enjoy games they like. Think always of your viewers first.

People are very, very tolerant with female vtubers being bad at streaming, but there is a limit. You have to show improvement at least after a year, else they feel they are backing the wrong horse. Always remember: streams aren't your content, clips are. People who watch your streams are deliberately choosing to support you out of their good will, abuse this goodwill, and they will be gone.

Acting "like a bitch" will kill your growth faster than any male collabs will ever do, and you just have to do it once. For an example look at the recent debacle with sigrid and bird. No one wants to support a bad person, either with money or with views. Everyonie who watches you after that is just literally a groomer who wants to get into your pants, and in the end, this will be the audience you actually deserve to have.

I wouldn't say it's persistence, some people in this very thread have been streaming for as many hours as he has and for the same amount of time and they don't have the checkmark.

It's not about being well networked either since else Colt would be partner because he is the biggest leech this thread has known.

I'm inclined to believe the reason is precisely because Arthur is non threatening. He doesn't deliberately antagonize his audience like Colt and he offers vanilla content such as reaction which is acceptable to his mostly male audience.

The mistake people here make is trying to appeal to women because they just want a girlfriend out of this but women will not watch you unless you are already successful. Arthur, by being a "boring dweeb" didn't pull a "im gonna fuck your oshi if you support me" deal and pulled thorough.

It's simple: Nijisanji needs to die. Hololive debuting new members may hurt their old ones but they'll also sap bits from the general vtuber sphere which includes Nijisanji. And if Nijisanji collapses either due to Riku selling out, more of the old guard leaving, diminishing returns for new waves, corruption/malpractices being exposed, etc. then a ton of those fans will flock to the next biggest company.

Are already dominant and have their own generals where they stay almost the entire time. They don't need to fight for /vt/ users who amount to, lets say, the 1k viewers at best. Convincing a few hundred anons to watch a holo would barely have an impact whilst for a small corpo, indie and some nijis, that would give a 50% boost in viewership and could let them ride the youtube algorithm.

So I just saw the numbers for Irys, looks like a lot of HoloEN viewers are still there they are just dormant. HoloEN scene isn't dead yet.

That's still showing how much potential numbers HoloEN can get with the right content and hype. Not saying that all of those viewers should be present at the same time across streams, its not like there's always 150k combined views across HoloJP during primetime, but HoloEN should be able to bring up like half of those viewers at a time. The fact that it rarely ever happens indicates that the current lineup aren't delivering the kind of content to get even half of those viewers from Irys's stream to turn up regularly.
