having a dropoff in viewers after your initial streams is pretty normal actually, as several people who check you out for curiosities sake aren't necessarily gonna vibe with whatever you're doing and will stop watching after a couple streams, so don't be too worried about that!

if you want some critique/candid advice on improving, heres my 2 cents, though I'm not an expert by any means
Your standout content by far is your tarot/magik stuff. If someone asks "what does this streamer do?" this is what someone would mention as being the thing that makes you different than every other normal streamer. You should take advantage of this and invest your time in making this a unique/interesting/fun stream experience. Clear out some space on your desk to dedicate to it, set your camera up at a good angle and get lighting set up to make it look good. You want *atmosphere* to match the vibe, I know nothing of magik/occult stuff, and I bet most of your viewers dont either. Make it look *interesting*, and mystical, put your herbs in little bottles or aged yellow envelopes with quill-pen scrawled labels, you could do this very cheap, with a bit of time. Right now your setup looks like it's lit with the flourescent bulbs of a strip mall psychic, tweak things with the lighting until it has character. You have all the components right there! I just think they can work for you a lot better.
I get the impression that you're going for a comfy vibe, but often the talking/convo style comes across more passive or unintereted, like you're just kinda doing the stream because you have to, or that the game/subject of the stream is the priority. A lot of people get this wrong imo, comfy streaming has to be very deliberate. It should be personal and relatable, you should be telling stories and talking about things that interest you, or things you'd like to do, *anything* that has your personality seeped into it. If you want some inspiration, check out Margo, who I think does a really good job of keeping the deliberate "comfy" vibe without going into being boring or checked out.

I hope this doesn't come across that I don't think your stream is good, I think you're doing fine! This is being a bit pickier than I usually would for the sake of helping you improve (hopefully), but it is all my opinion so take it as it is. I think you have a good personality and a lot of charm! Good luck!

not

but they'll get shit for it from people who get mad at the existence of chuuba discords. If a viewer is known for making art or shitposts or whatever, I want to check out their stream to see if they bring the same creativity there.

Thanks! I'm glad people like them because they take a long time to make. Other quality /here/ chuuba editors are Based Bug and Popato, who you should check out for inspiration. Based Bug's "The Beatani Experience" might be the best editing in a /here/ video in existence.

To answer your questions:

-Drag your video file into the "Project Media" window in the top left of Vegas (it should be MP4 format, use Twitch Leecher to download and it'll always be encoded correctly), then drag that down into the timeline in the bottom half of the screen. It should snap to the only video and audio track. The audio will take a while while it builds the peaks, which are just the visual waveforms you see in the audio track.
- Press spacebar to play, you can move the cursor by clicking around on the timeline. Spacebar again will snap the cursor back to where you started. Clicking on the timeline will place the cursor in a new spot. IF YOU DON'T SEE VIDEO HERE: Your input file is likely encoded wrong. Download Handbrake and re-encode to MP4.
- Once you have it playing, scrub through and find the part you want to cut. Place the cursor at the beginning by clicking on the timeline. Press "S" to cut the track. Play/place cursor at the end, and cut the track with "S" again. Delete the before and after sections of the track by selecting them and pressing the "Delete" key (or right click->Delete). Select your clip and drag it to the beginning of the timeline.
In the grey bar above the timeline (right above where the timestamp numbers are, in the middle the screen) click at the beginning of the clip and drag to the end. There should be a dark grey bar with yellow triangles at either end above your highlighted clip.
Go to File->Render, select the resolution you want on the popup window (go for 1080-60fps if Vegas 14 has it, in 16 it's under the "internet formats" category or something like that). Press "Render" and wait for it to generate.

Hope this helps!
