Isn't that some of the most popular content on Youtube? Especially conspiracy/true crime clickbait videos are super popular and there's tons of science-focused Youtubers, it's one of the largest genres on Youtube.

Mostly personal preference but I think a vtuber can blend that content together with an appreciation for Japanese/anime culture and be less "dry" since it's primarily entertainment content and not meant to be educational. People have shown they much prefer "entertainment" over dry educational content. That's why Fox News is more popular than PBS and History channel went from doing actual history documentaries to Hitler conspiracy theory shit all day long in the 00's and Mythbusters was way more popular than all the other shit on the Discovery channel back in the day.

This guy's long-form history videos are pretty damn popular and he's pretty damn close to a vtuber using those dumb polandball memes as a mascot/theme for his content.

Anyway it's not like I particularly care about what kind of content they do, I just believe there's definitely a niche for people with charismatic personalities who just wanna talk about things they're passionate about while using a virtual avatar. Being male isn't a debuff in that area since there's no GFE required. That's basically what Mashiro does since all his content is horror-themed and it works great.
