You know, even though hostess clubs are legal in the states, cops routinely have to investigate them because they're always about 2 steps away from prostitution joints. Vtubers are basically just digital hostesses. That level of manipulation though, using companionship to extract money out of lonely people, I do think it's a pretty sinister business model that we've somehow all welcomed with open arms.
