A quantity of Maxhead is the Chuubanite (Chu) IE 1 Mh of Chuubanite
One Maxhead at an activation of one Rom generates one Joule per second
1 Mh * 1 Ro * 1 s = 1 J
Chuubanite has a certain level of baseline Activation of a low Rom value. Rom can be increased through the creation of glyphs, by stressing the chuubanite, or by putting it in contact with an activator substance.
Activation is calculated thus:
Ac = Ac_base (in Rom)
Ac = Ac_glyph (in Rom)
Ac = Ac_activator_factor (unitless)
Ac = S (in Rom)
Note a tension stress results in negative activation while a compressive stress results in positive activation.
Base, Glyph and Stress factors are additive, the Activator factor is multiplicative with regard to the others

The front of a stress wave traveling through chuubanite generates a corresponding wave in the Vitium field. The two waves travel together at the speed of sound in the material.
When the front of the stress wave touches chuubanite, the amplitude of the Vitium Field Excitation increases.

With Chu as the quantity of Maxhead in the material traversed by the stress wave. A Compressive Stress wave front increases the VFE, while a tensile one decreases the VFE.

When the VFE moves into a medium with a different Chuubanite concentration, some VFE is converted to Magical Energy, while some continues in the new medium. (Frames 6-8)
The proportion of VFE converted to Magical Energy follows this equation:
Ratio = (Cc - Cc_out) / (Cc + Cc_out)
Conversely, VFE entering a region of higher Cc will result in Magical Energy being drawn from the Chuubanite and increasing the amplitude of the VFE.

The amount of Magical Energy transferred to the chuubanite by the VFE is calculated thus:
E_mag = Ratio * VFE * Vd
This Magical Energy is instantly converted to Strain Energy, Heat, and Light as the VFE crosses into the new medium. (Frames 7-8)

Once the Strain Energy is stored in the Chuubanite, it will slowly return to its configuration at rest using energy from its base activation. This return to rest configuration can be accelerated through further application of Activation. (Frames 8-12)

A note: you mention in the text that mammal bones are as strong as steel while being lighter; this kills the material science autist. Studies comparing particular bone geometries with an equivalent weight in steel of a different geometry found the bone could resist greater loads. However, much of this is due to the geometry (the porous cellular/honeycombed structure of bone) of the material. Bulk bone material properties compared to bulk metal material properties, for the same weight, are at best almost as good and at worse very inferior to most metals, depending on the alloys of course. I can get much more autistic about this if you're interested, but basically I'd say "A Rosebuta's ground tissue for the skeleton, to put it in simple terms, compares favorably to an animal's bone tissue in terms of material properties."
