>It's because like, it's silly. It's not very deep and a lot of it is beyond ridiculous. But because it plays it completely straight, like you get sucked into it. You still know that's crazy and stupid, but you take it seriously. That's why when I saw a clip from the new season of castlevania, castlevania nocturne, which by the way I was so excited for because it had my boy Richter in, and I was so excited to see him. And then I saw like a clip of him just trying to like, quip, like a marvel character and I'm just like come on! Be serious! Like if, even if you're just ridiculous, just imagine saying something really raw before like, offing like a very, like the big baddy. You don't gotta like, wink at the camera. Just be cheesy, because on some level when you take yourself incredibly seriously, even when you're ridiculous it turns out as peak. Case in point like, look at Ike Eveland once again bringing up Sonic the hedgehog but, in a game that's objectively ah, how should I- what's a nice way of putting it. Flawed. Like Sonic 06. For all the faults that that game has, how ridiculously seriously it takes itself unironically makes it immensely entertaining. And some times it even leads to like, some cool stuff. Like that final line that Shadow utters in his, after the final boss in his story during the Mephiles cutscene where he clones himself like a thousand times. Like, the whole line of "If the world chooses to become my enemy, I will fight like I always have" unironically it's really raw and I'm tired of pretending that is not. That is my rant for today.
