I really like the feathers on top honestly. Ina's Tako's have her halo and tentacles so it's pretty easy to get a idea on who's fans it's representing.
I feel like a blob gives you more freedom on how to pose them since there's no real obvious constrains on what they are supposed to be like behind it.
One thought I had was maybe add a beak element or knowing that spotted owls are a thing, something imitating that pattern or vague "feathers" on the robe itself?
This is sorta what I was thinking but I'm still not a amazing artist and the face is honestly really creepy despite trying to make it less... whatever the fuck it turned out as.
