I have two ideas. The first is pretty the one you explained.
The second idea is about being one of the assassins sent to take her life but eventually turning to her side to help her out. The reason for the switch being that you lose agaisnt her and make the proposal to supply her infomation and a hand if she spares your life. (Death is certian if you return home without her head) You can also get a liitle enemies-to-lovers thing here as well.
After joining her side, the two of you moonlight as maid and butler in your journey to the throne. I feel like this idea has less focus on the maid aspect but I still like it.
