Imagine living with Nia. You’re sitting on the couch, absentmindedly watching a muted TV show while she’s streaming in her room. At some point, you hear her door open and the faint ringing of her bell as she walks into the kitchen behind you, followed by the faint hum of the microwave. You don’t really think anything about it until you see Nia walking up to you, a big bowl of popcorn in one hand and a blanket being dragged by the other. She sets the bowl of popcorn beside you, plops herself in your lap, and pulls the blanket over the both of you. You see one of her hands sneak out of the blanket to grab the remote and she puts on some random chick flick before her hand retreats back under the blanket. Finally, with both hands still under the blankets, she grabs the bowl of popcorn and places it in her lap. Nia of course expects you to feed her since both her hands are under the blanket, and since you’re stuck watching the movie anyway, you oblige. Throughout the movie, you grab small handfuls of popcorn, alternating between bringing them to your mouth or Nia’s. Occasionally, you feel her soft lips brush against your fingers, or feel her warm, barbed tongue run across them in an attempt to get every last bit of flavor that might have been left behind. At some point, you find the bowl empty and credits finish rolling by, but Nia doesn’t get up yet. You can hear her soft breathing as the blanket slowly rises and falls and feel her gentle heartbeat with her body pressed up against yours. You bet she just wants an excuse to stay like this a little longer, and your suspicions are confirmed when she finally gets up with a quiet “thank you” and heads off to her room, walking a little faster than usual. You’re sure she’s blushing, but she’d never give you the satisfaction of seeing it.
