Strange memories on this nervous night in /nijiEN/. Three years later? Two? It seems like a lifetime, or at least a Main Era--the kind of peak that never comes again. Nijisanji EN in the early days was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run...but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch the sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant...
History is hard to know because of all the genderwar bullshit, but even without being sure of "history" it seems entirely reasonable to think that every now and then the energy of a whole thread comes to a head in a long fine flash, for reasons that nobody really understands at the time--and which never explain, in retrospect, what actually happened.
There was madness in any direction, at any hour. If not from Rosemi freakin' it, then up the Pomu schizo streams or down that Halloween stream where Elira gave her famous tirade and taught us all about breaking the seal... You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning...
And that, I think was the handle--that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of blue dorito. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn't need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting--on our side or theirs. We all had the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave...
So now, less than three years later, you can go open up anyone's channel and scroll down the "live" tab, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark--that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

Okay, check this out: The Downfall timeline is the original Zelda timeline, both from an in-universe and out-of-universe (the downfall timeline contains all the old games) perspective.
LTTP is the first game in the Downfall timeline, and at the start of it we're told about the Imprisoning War. Long story short, Ganon obtained the Triforce after the events in OOT and became a nigh-unstoppable force of evil. He was only brought to heel by the sages teaming up to seal him in the Sacred Realm, thereby corrupting it into the Dark World. Now, here's the key point. By the end of LTTP, following the confrontation with Ganon in this game, Link has acquired the full Triforce and he makes a wish on it to undo ALL of Ganon's evil.
My theory hinges on the assumption that the Triforce exists on its own plane, outside of time*, and wishes made on it will reverberate through all timelines. When LTTP Link undid ALL of Ganon's evil, he not only restored his present-time, but also managed to inadvertently trigger the timeline splits by making a world where Ganon would inevitably lose.
The only reason the Hero of Time is able to defeat Ganon in OOT is because LTTP Link's wish caused the Master Sword to do something unprecedented—trapping an unprepared wielder in stasis until adulthood, so that he would be able to properly wield the blade. We know now from BOTW that, normally, if an unprepared wielder tries to wield the Master Sword, it will literally just cripple/mortally wound him, and I think that this is what happened to the original Hero of Time (the one who would have fallen vs Ganon and whose death leads to the Imprisoning War). But thanks to LTTP Link's wish, the Hero of Time was given the time (no pun intended) he needed to develop into a form that could actually defeat Ganon.
*This isn't even out of nowhere, the Triforce has actually exhibited properties of existing on its own plane of time at least once. In TP we're shown a cutscene of Ganondorf's execution, which follows after the Hero of Time, sent back to relive his childhood (and begin the Child timeline split) by Zelda, goes and informs the kingdom of Ganondorf's treachery. Ganondorf is then set to be executed, but at the time his execution comes, the Triforce of Power suddenly appears on his hand, "As if in some divine prank" (paraphrased), and gives him the power he needs to survive his execution. I posit that this moment lines up exactly with the point in the original OOT timeline where Ganondorf sneaks into the Sacred Realm following Link's opening of it and claims the Triforce, but it splits as his heart isn't properly balanced between Power, Wisdom, and Courage. If the Triforce exists on its own plane of time, then it makes sense that EVERY iteration of Ganondorf who exists throughout the multiverse would also acquire their own Triforce of Power at that time.
Hopefully I didn't forget anything...

As long as you understand the fundamentals enough for the position you wish you'll be fine, I don't think the value of a degree will degrade because I'm pretty sure it is secondary when compared to actual workplace experience or a portfolio. Also you're expected to study for the rest of your life because every single day there's something new being released.
