ive said before but i believe the direction he refers is formation of units in nijisanji. its been a thing since at least 2019, but it seems they are going to do more of it. I imagine he was invited to be in one, they tried to find ways for him to be in one, and he thought it would be better to graduate to not do it half-ass if he didnt want to.
