Reasoning isn't for confirming world views and talking about issues going back and forth, it's for working down to a solution to a problem you give the LLM or do thinking to approach a solution step by step. I'm sure you can gaslight it into whatever you want even with chain of thought on. The good thing also is that it seems like from the Web UI you can turn it on and off as a toggle depending on when you actually need it so it's not forced on all the time since I think it also messes with response times.
