>edgy neutral ending
The entire idea behind Ranni's ending is allying with an Outer God that really doesn't care about meddling with human lives (Ranni's Moon) and then having the Elden Lord and Queen retire to the moon so gods can't mess up the lives of mortals anymore.

Basically all of the Lands Between's problems arose because of the Greater Will messing with stuff, or because the gods did dumb stuff to stop the Greater Will from messing with stuff. Ranni's ending is basically "let's create a world where the gods don't screw everything up, but we still have the Elden Lord and Queen in case some Outer Gods try to invade".

The Black Knife assassins collaborated with Ranni very temporarily since she infused their blades with the Rune of Death so they could kill Godwyn. They were originally controlled by Marika, and it's unclear what exactly their motivations are post Shattering. But they aren't on Ranni's side at all, they make every effort to hunt her down now.
