Comes from /tv/'s Big Brother threads. It's basically when a player manipulates the actions of, or convinces another of, something that usually isn't actually true.
ex. "nobody's targeting you", "you're not going on the block", "i've got your back", "trust the plan", "it's all gonna work out", anything + "i swear to you", etc.
Basically somebody gullible has been bamboozled by someone's charisma. Comes in many flavors, and the lie can be about anything. Paradoxically, people have also misted themselves at times.
If you want to see it in action, the best example is probably Dan Gheesling's funeral. Within 24 hours he goes from being the #1 target everyone is after, to being saved by the people who wanted him out the most, and who take out one of his targets instead.
