I think that would be too much wrangling, it's easier to do it if the 2 people are clones so you don't need to really care who the AI gives the traits to. Perhaps it was the progression of getting the right reactions that did me in yesterday.
I did end up working on my cowgirl template last night to give it on/off switches via dynamic prompts so I was still prompting late into the night.

I can try again, not go for volume and just go for getting both in the same picture and then inpaint the reactions. Probably good practice anyway.
