tldr no chainsaw-equivalent but other than that weapons function identical, two new custom enemies and rest function identical. so it's mostly a reskinned themed doom 2.
first pirate doom was horror themed but this one is quite cartoony.

whether it's better is subjective, i for one love vanilla functionality and prefer MBF modding over zscript so this one is better for me too.
