Squatting above parallel to the floor puts a lot of pressure on your knees.
You want to at least squat parallel or below parallel to get as little pressure on the knee joint as possible.
Doing quarter squats with just your body weight probably won't do much damage but with weights and enough repetition, they will fuck up your knees.
Quarter squats can have their place in sport specific areas like jumping and shit.
But then you do quarter squats in a power rack where you can rest the weight on the safeties to remove the stress from the knees.
