jwu, I more feel like it being "off" is the point, I guess? I like the internal conflict of him trying and failing to fight his own nature as he loves humans, but is destined to eat them. I see it more as predator loving prey than mass murder, dude's biology is designed to lure humans near him, make them comfortable, and then eat their souls.
