Hajime spent the first 30 minutes of his 3D debut sat in perfect seiza doing a style of japanese entertainment called Yose (寄席), which is pretty much a stand up comedy act except it's sit and not very comedic.
It fits his character lore and is actually a form of japanese art but it is DEFINITELY not entertaining, it is an expression of art and creativity to be appreciated by few.

Japan has several of these forms of entertainment which aren't really "entertainment" in the sense described and more on the "art" side.
The only thing that separates that from what I described in the western world is that I am not in position to call it "crap" or "genius" because I wouldn't be able to differentiate one from another.

The western world has its share of good entertainment. Japan has their share of crap pseudo artistic expressions.
You and I are lucky to have found entertainment at the other side of the kaigai pond but there is nothing inherent in their entertainment that would make it easy
