A soldier's journey, a tale of war,
Of synthburgers and sardines, and so much more.
Recruited for a mission, a squad of misfits to join,
Through tests and surgeries, the journey to deploy began to join.

Assigned to the strange Hootie squad,
Newman was nervous, he must admit, awed.
He checked out his mech, Fat Fuck it was named,
Psy-linking with it, he felt strangely tamed.

As they were shot out into the fight,
The Holoimperials seemed to be in sight.
But things went awry, with left arm gone,
Newman was counting down, till he was done.

The mercs brought industrial gear, like a thermal lance,
It was hard to fight them, without the left arm's dance.
A storm hit them, a catalog of pain,
But they fought on, no respite to gain.

And then it happened, the rip in space-time,
Liberation coming, the battleship's chime.
Newman said his prayers, ready to die,
When a voice called out, in his mind's eye.

The can of sardines was pulsating hard,
And then he heard, the Fish's voice so charred.
It spoke of Coke and lollipops so sweet,
A candy-eating contest, the Fish's treat.

With newfound strength, Newman fought on,
Fat Fuck was back, his mech's thrusters gone.
The sardines in his belly, pulsing still,
The Fish's voice in his mind, a surreal thrill.

Through the deadbeat starship, they flew with great speed,
Their minds and mechs working in harmony, no need to plead.
They narrowly missed the Huul carrier, with a sigh of relief,
Newman and his squad, warriors in belief.

The journey was tough, but they made it through,
Newman learned, that even sardines can get you through.
And in his mind, he heard the Fish's voice,
A reminder that even in war, we have a choice.
