Early in my planning stage I found out that some German guy in the 16th century got an iron hand, but even though how it functioned ended up getting incorporated into Borasmor’s gauntlet, that’s where the direct connection ends. Instead the more important thing’s that it reminded me of a William Blake poem that also featured that term. I ended up borrowing its idea quite a bit although I gave the imagery some twists to fit the scenario better (and also not to spoil the entire plot)
