No complaints against this practice of using youtube ads to pump up the views for music videos by vtubers? I'd get if it was just a announcement or self introduction to a smaller vtuber channel but using an actual MV in an ad is just so wrong on many levels. Nijisanji has done it 3 times that I know of for the new EN debut song: Diamond City Lights (1.2m) , Black Out (1.5m) and God Sees All (569k). If they didn't use youtube ads, I doubt these songs would crack 1 million views at this current time. Other than being a sleazy way to gain views, it also tells me they don't have confidence in the song gaining traction on their own or the talents that are singing it and had to resort to such means.

Also, the gains seem short term depending on how long it's circulating in the youtube ad circle. For comparison: Nijisnaji's "Diamond City Lights" is at 1.2m views compared to Hololive "Take Me Home, Country Roads" at 3.2m when they were out at around the same time. I think it's pretty easy to tell that the audience doesn't like nor engage with MVs that do such practices. Better to get low and genuine views instead of hitting a milestone and having an asterisk next to it.
