kek, that’s true but for a different reason.
Portugal government is literally headed by the “Socialist Party” (that’s their name) and their coalition part are the Communist Party (unironic sickle and hammer flag) and the “Leftist bloc” (a splinter of the socialist party that formed their one because the socialist party wasn’t socialist enough).

If it depended on the government this country would receive as many refugees as Sweden but…

wages are low, the deep country is as Catholic as the Arabs are Muslim and our food is based on pork and alcohol so they NOPE the fuck out and even the few ones the government tricks into coming here BAIL THE FUCK OUT as soon as they figure out.
Here is one funny thing: there is an European budget for countries willing to take refugees as long as they remain so our government siccs the fucking Interpol on refugees that flee to Germany or France for better living conditions so the country doesn’t lose the Germoney.

Long story short: you must be REALLY PORTUGUESE to love living in Portugal, even our own natives usually emigrate to France, Luxembourg or Belgium
