Breast density varies greatly by composition between ducts, glands, connective tissue and fat. Even women of the same breast size can feel entirely different. Some women have big, relatively-light floppers while others have dense bags of wet sand. Having children often will change the composition as well.
Studies of the specifics of breast composition do not tend to be big surveys of how prevalent different compositions are, or how they feel, or whatnot. The studies tend to be about topics such as whether composition X vs Y is more susceptible to breast cancer, and so on.
