This shit is old.
YT Gaming has been dead for good two years, and most people who livestreamed on YT and watched streams never watched it through YT Gaming App/Website but through the main YT site itself. Besides, that assumes only gaming streams happen and there's been loads on people livestreaming non-gaming content - and I can only imagine it grew bigger with the pandemic.

But it does. Just go to the channel page, click the bell there and choose always. I always get a notification within 2 minutes of the streamer I follow going online both on my browsers and devices logged into YT.
