I think you should check them out. They're always doing fun stuff.

One thing that made a big impression on me. I was watching 2 streams side by side.
On the left, was Mumei's boring-as-fuck chatting stream with 8000 people. The chat is completely bored, barely staying awake. On the right, is Miori and Yuuna's epic karaoke collab, which completely brought the house down, with 800 people.

Look at the chats, who do you think is having more fun? Who is having a more enjoyable experience?
The reason why so many people are watching this boring Mumei stream, instead of partying, is because:
A) they don't know about the other stream
B) they are such hololive fanboys they choose the more boring stream
Either way it's really shocking to see this state of affairs.

Sometimes the nijis do massive group collabs, or special events, or fun streams, while hololive has nothing happening. Sometimes there's an epic stream at the smaller corporations that you want to watch. But people refuse, they spend all their time shepherding from hololive stream, to hololive stream, and waiting bored through the dead hours. If you had more options at your disposal, you'd have better choices to make.

On thing that I've noticed is there is lots of time when Hololive often has no streams whatsoever. Or the streams they do have are really dull.

Like, I remember when Sana was doing some awful astronomy review stream, at the same time as the great Nijisanji mario kart collab, which was so memorable that people still talk about it today. Or when Ame was doing her sponsored stream, at the exact same time Selen was fighting for her life in a $100,000 tournament against pro-players. Or when Mumei was having some boring-ass chatting stream, at the same time Miori Celesta was doing her epic karaoke collab with Yuna for the last time.

In each of these cases, thousands of people chose the inferior stream, boring their own asses off, not even aware that something far better was going on that they were missing. This is a clear example of how corporate loyalty is fucking people over, and giving the consumer an inferior outcome.

Ideally, the consumer would not religiously stick to a single brand-name, but judge all the streams and choose the most entertaining one. But that's not happening. Instead we have these religious zealots that will not watch anything that doesn't have the right brand-logo under the video. It's fucking insane.

Pic related is an example of how much fun the chats in the two streams were having.
On the left, is Mumei's boring-ass chatting stream with 8000 viewers. On the right, is Miori's fantastic, epic karaoke with 800 viewers. Who is having more fun do you think? Why are thousands of people choosing the inferior option?

Why would I watch this boring person when there's so many other good people I could be watching? What a waste.

I remember distinctly one moment a few days ago. Mumei was holding this extremely boring chatting stream to 9k viewers. Meanwhile, at the very same time, Miori Celestia was having an awesome karaoke collab with her best friend Yuuna, and the chat was having a party. I wondered, why were people sitting there watching this boring owl girl when they could be having a party with Miori? It seemed like such an....inoptimal situation. Just because of tribalism maybe? Like, why wouldn't you watch the more entertaining stream? It doesn't make sense.

Anon, just because a stream is going on, doesn't mean it's a GOOD stream.

Like just today, there were 2 streams going on at the same time.
1) Mumei boring chatting stream
2) Miori Celestia off-collab karaoke stream

Which stream is more entertaining?
Pic related, the chats from the two streams. Which chat is having more fun?

Just because a stream is happening, doesn't mean that it's a stream you want to watch. There's literally 50 other streamers putting out content, some of them are making some really good streams that draw your attention. Why would you stick to one corporation?

Even for someone who's Nijisanji-only (very few people), they have almost double the number of streams to choose from that Hololive has. They can almost always find something entertaining.
