I do this to get the time. t:8924 is the time in seconds. I just write the number in a text file and label it. You'll have to convert the time back to hour:minute:seconds if you want to post them on YouTube.
This way is inconvenient and blocks a portion of the stream but it doesn't require you to be there at the start of the stream. Alternatively you can use holodex to see the time since stream started
