Also, some more of my thoughts on the station model. While I don't have concrete math, I have read a post on a worldbuilding forum asking the exact same question I had: How big would a ship need to be to feed 10k people.

https://worldbuilding.stackexchange.com/questions/25800/how-large-would-a-space-ship-need-to-be-to-feed-10-000-people

tl;dr is that the space required to ONLY GROW OUR FOOD would be equivalent to 5-6 supertankers. Not even storage of said food is included into that, just the space to grow it. Add to that another tanker or two for said storage, space parts and such, then another 3-4(I wanna be generous here, since our voyages would take generations, and you would want your people to actually have space to live in, not just survive, for those periods of time.) for the Sanallites living there, another 2 for the factories, and another 2-3 for animal specimens we might take back with us, and cattle we haul with us anyway(the first number is only for the plant growing btw :).

So the end result would be something equivalent in size to 13 supertankers at the minimum! So I still want to push for the station to be a lot more bulky than the sleek upward design we currently have in the works, otherwise we are probably looking at a height somewhere between 800m-1km. Like, fucking hell, look at this thing! This would be 1/13th of Lamington!
