Happiness varies from person to person. It's definitely possible to reach a place in life where you get enough agency and fulfilment to cruise along being content, and aware that any problems that might arise you're equipped to deal with.
But I also think it's possible to have a brain that developed in such a way that nothing will ever make it happy. It can't bond with people as it will always feel fake and insincere, it can't be glad by itself. It will be a loop of fear, embarrassment, and self-hatred until I die at 80 because I won't be courageous enough to end it all.
