Holizontal failing would only cause the collapse of that project and maybe the heads of a few managers.
This group failing would ruin the lives of 5 actual girls.
Which is why Cover won't let that happen, and will keep pumping money into them (just like the homos).

You won't realize just how much they have fucked up with this until at least half a year from now.
This is not a new Hololive JP gen. These girls have been selected for music alone. They very likely won't even be streaming (if they were, they'd be under Hololive JP, and selected for those skills, rather than their musical prowess).
Meaning, very few Hololive collabs, on-stream appearances etc.
No main channel stuff.
No Hologra.
The Holobox will provide ZERO benefit to them, barring the rare occasional collab, and perhaps a few 3D appearances on the lives of some Holos (which will cause controversy as well, because they'd be taking away spots from that holo's actual friend group).
Their regular Live thingey (if that's what it's going to be) is the only thing that has the potential to work out well, if they're good and get a decent audience going.
But that shit is expensive as fuck to do regularly.

People like Hololive music because they're MADE BY THE HOLOLIVE GIRLS!
Holo girls establish a fanbase by streaming, building up and contributing to the Hololive "BOX" with new interactions, dynamics etc. which is why they get fans who will listen to the music they occasionally put out.
Do you seriously think Botan of all people could get 1M on her song because she was a musical genius? FUCK NO! Her fans like the song because it's being sung by HER, and has references that her fanbase likes!
These new girls have no existing fanbase. They will leech off the Hololive fanbase for the early days and get some numbers (remember Tempus?) but once the audience figures out that they will not be "streaming", i.e. there won't be a "debut stream" or anything like that, and that they won't be joining the main JP Holobox, the interest will die off VERY quickly.

Holo girls will be curious about them, and probably do a lot of twitter interactions and work with the "new thing" feel for a while.
But once they startg getting busy with their own stuff, they'll stop giving the spotlight to them.
And because the new girls aren't streaming, they'll simply get forgotten by the greater Holobox.
Also, because these 5 girls have been explicitly branded to be NOT part of Hololive JP, their music will have to stand out on it's own.
And considering just how saturated the JP "Music" market is, so much so that even Hololive music is struggling to stand out in some instances, these girls will have next to no chance unless literally all of them are once in a generation singers with personalities that are fit for celebrity life.
Cover won't drop people just for low numbers, so they will be permanently stuck with low numbers, struggling to make music, while being completely isolated from the greater Holobox - barring a few collabs here and there.

Absolute worst case? They will have to be absorbed into Hololive after a years or so, a.la. Azki, Suisei etc. and be forced to stream.
Azki and Suisei struggled a lot but made it work thanks to experience and finding their niches (e.g. the geoguesser arc).
These girls? Maaaybe a couple of them will recover, learn how to stream, and make a name for themselves down the line.
A lot of them would've just joined this project for the numbers (or for the music) and might be averse to streaming, and so would likely just straight up quit in that situation.
But if that's the case, they could've just saved everyone the trouble and debuted another gen instead!
This shit has ALREADY HAPPENED! AND THEY LEARNED FUCKING NOTHING FROM IT!

And even IF they succeeed? They will give net zero benefit to HOLOLIVE! Because they're separate!
No new stream interactions, no new fun dynamics, just 5 girls doing their own fucking thing separate from Hololive!
This is the absolute WORST type of idea management could push.
They're making the same mistake their own fucking COMPETITORS are making! i.e. Entering an already saturated market and putting out the EXACT SAME PRODUCT!
