I went running as long and as hard as I could. I don't feel any less empty inside, but I am convinced that if I ever work up the nerve to break anonymity and share my real self with her that at least my body is better than almost anyone who is aware of her. I may not have confidence in my value as a human being, but at least I am in good shape.

You should have been out of bed 7 hours ago. Run your miles, hit the weights, take a shower, do your reps. Be better than you were the day before. Even if you are just doing it for her, as long as you keep it up you will become a better man.
