I question how relevant that is nowadays. She was by far the #1 popularity in Hololive for a long time a while ago and was the representative of Hololive constantly making media appearances and really carried the brand for a while. That would certainly contribute a lot to her perception as 'important'. As of late she has a lot more people to fall back on and I think she's been happiest a bit more low-key just relaxing doing her own thing
Regardless, I think some of it has to do with how much she's done for Hololive over the years and how supportive she's known for being to others. She's always put others before herself and has almost never been selfish and has stuck up for other Holomems constantly. Others referring to her as the 'backbone' of Hololive is not a complete exaggeration.
