Code Geass was terribly written, and most of the interesting world developments happen offscreen or are revealed to have already been built into the landscape/city infrastructure. Interesting premise, but it's so fucking bad.
AoT is completely different, and anyone who misunderstands the ending is an abject moron who probably also misunderstood the entire series.
