One of the saddest and most fucked up things I have heard is Rosemi explaining us that after having a blast in one of her favorite days of the year (Halloween) she noticed King was no longer moving. She started to believe he was "hibernating" as the only possible explanation of why King wasn't moving anymore.

Deep down she felt something was so wrong and tried to do everything for him to come back but hey it's hibernation, it can't be helped right?
When she started to explain to us how she realized King was cold and she held him really close to her for over 2 hours in a small and empty tiny dimmed room just trying to see if the little buddy came back... It was incredibly sad for us but her it was probably true despair.

Deep inside her she already knew that King was gone but refused to accept it so she continued to believe in the hibernation theory until the last minute. She put down inside his cage the little buddy and went to sleep.
She barely got any sleep and when she woke up in the morning, she couldn't hear her friend making any noises or the wheel moving.
That's when she got close to what it used to be King and it finally hit her. Rosemi said she broke and cried for hours non stop until she called her parents and they helped Rosemi bury King and deal with the aftermath.

You see not all pets are lucky enough to be buried, most of them are washed down the toilet or thrown in the garbage bin... King, King had a good life and an owner that loved him.

Yeah it's Nijisanji, there's a livers that shared stories about almost being murdered, overcoming really hard trials, loved ones passing away, pets gone or missing, family issues beyond our understanding, etc. But there's something incredibly sad and cruel about the story of a sheltered, autistic, lonely girl that finally started living by herself and her first and only companion passed away without her realizing it and up to this day she still blames herself for that.
