Not an expert but my favorites are Saya no Uta and SubaHibi. Might not be ideal models for a lighthearted slice of life if that's your intention though. Maybe Nanairo Reincarnation? I remember it having a good balance of romance and plot without being too long.
Only read these in Jap so I don't know about the translation quality. vndb.org is a good database if you weren't aware.
