It's not a bad idea, but I think any new blood that tries writing for this thread would get discouraged when put up against some of the beasts that are the regulars here. That's not an insult to their skills mind you, everyone has to start somewhere and anyone has the potential to win, but some Anons have been cultivating their writing for far longer and would have a clear advantage.
Of course, you could try setting up a competition for writers that *don't* frequent /wg/, but that's hard to enforce and there's no way of knowing if one of our guys secretly enters.
