Totally understand. Sven is free and pretty straight forward to set up, but it's also not something you can hop into the first time without some prep.

Regardless, I hope I can start hosting again this saturday, and the server will always be up every saturday the usual start time when if you do ever feel like joining.

Yes, but there are also a lot of deaths from unexpected explosions, which happen on a regular basis, so actually I don't think they're that unexpected.

You know how great it is to actually play sven with /hlgg/?
Most of the servers are filled with XP mods with million hp players and enemies. No one plays the map together- it's always some sort of speedrun to finish the map. Sometimes one player even gets to the end of the map before most players even load in because of their ping.
Only a minority of players actually heal each other, let alone take the time to revive downed players to save them the long trip from spawn.
It sometimes feels like quake with npcs rather than a co-op shooter game.
That's not a WRONG way to play- people can enjoy the damn game however they want, but it's pretty off putting to me. So every session I'm continually impressed with the collective's groups patience to make sure most players complete the map together so that everyone has fun.
