It was their attempt at a defense following nearly 2 weeks of nonstop attacks on them.
You can say it was poor, but up until that point everything had been terribly one sided, the accused should be allowed to defend themselves you know.
And might I add that Doki had no defense for the Vox recording which brings many other things she said into doubt, she wisely backed away from everything follow that stream so in some way, it did its job.
